This is a rare April 10th, 1939 playbill from the Original Broadway production of the CHARLES L. COOKE, DAVE GREGGORY and WILLIAM TRACY musical "HOT MIKADO" at the Broadhurst Theatre in New York City. (The production opened March 23rd, 1939 and ran for 85 performances.) ..... With lyrics and music by Sir WILLIAM S. GILBERT and Sir ARTHUR SULLIVAN, the show was based on their comic opera "THE MIKADO", but with "modernized tempos".
