at the Theatre Danse de Follies" atop the New Amsterdam Theatre in New York City. (The production opened November 17th, 1921 and ran for 123 performances.) ..... The "ZIEGFELD MIDNIGHT FROLIC" was a late-night series that Florenz Ziegfeld staged in the New Amsterdam's intimate rooftop theater, "Danse de Follies". It featured a glass runway that let the chorus girls parade over the audiences heads, wearing tasteful ankle-length linen bloomers. A genuine hit, Ziegfeld produced a fully revised edition each year beginning in 1915. Ziegfeld produced two editions in 1921, but Prohibition and changes in popular taste kept attendance down and made this the last regular year for the
Frolic
. Ziegfeld would stage one further edition in 1928. (Wikipedia) .....
